Sasikala expected to return to Bengaluru prison by today evening
AIADMK leader Sasikala is expected to return to Bengaluru prison by today evening, three days before her 15-day parole ends. The aide of ex-CM Jayalalithaa left for Parappana Agrahara Prison from her Thanjavur residence today by road. The 61-year-old tainted leader was granted parole post her husband Natarajan's death on March 20. She's serving a four-year term in disproportionate assets case, involving late Jayalalithaa.
Natarajan's final rites got over by Friday at the Arulananda Nagar house (Thanjavur) and around 8.40 AM, Sasikala left in a convoy of cars to Bengaluru. She is accompanied by her brother V Dhivaharan, nephew, AIADMK rebel and AMMK leader TTV Dhinakaran and several other leaders like Thanga Tamilselvan and P Palaniappan. Many relatives came to meet Sasikala before she left for prison again.
Amidst all this, one meeting that took place before Sasikala left for Bengaluru is setting tongues wagging in the political circles. DMK leader and former minister K.N. Nehru gave a surprise visit to Sasikala today morning. Though the visit was to offer condolences to Sasikala for her loss, there is a speculation that Nehru shared how he was feeling isolated in his party.
