Woman assaulted over unpaid loan in Andhra Pradesh

In Chittoor district's Narayanapuram village, a 28-year-old woman named Srisha was allegedly tied to a tree and beaten by a group after her husband failed to repay an ₹80,000 loan taken from local TDP worker Munikannappa.
Srisha had just returned to the village with her kids to collect their school transfer certificates when she was attacked.

Incident has sparked outrage locally

Srisha's husband left the village after taking the loan. Locals called the police, who rescued Srisha.
Six people—including Munikannappa—have been arrested.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu condemned what happened, promised support for Srisha's family, and said steps will be taken so this doesn't happen again.
