Youth Congress member arrested for protest at India AI Summit
Siddharth Avdhoot, an Indian Youth Congress (IYC) member, just got bail after spending nine days in custody for his role in a shirtless protest at the India AI Impact Summit on February 20.
The group, which reportedly included Krishna Hari (National Secretary of the IYC), entered the event with QR passes and revealed T-shirts featuring PM Modi and Donald Trump, along with slogans like "PM is compromised" and India-US trade deal.
Security quickly detained them, and police said legal action would be initiated.
Avdhoot released on March 7
Avdhoot was released on March 7 after posting a bail bond of ₹50,000 and a surety bond of ₹50,000 as ordered by the court.
The investigation isn't over yet. The status of bail pleas for other arrested protesters was not specified.
For now, Avdhoot is out, but the legal process continues for his fellow IYC members.
