Twelve Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs, including Leader of Opposition Atishi, were suspended from the Delhi Assembly due to their "disruptive sloganeering" during Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena's speech on Tuesday. The other suspended MLAs included prominent faces like Gopal Rai, Veer Singh Dhingan, Mukesh Ahlawat, Chaudhary Zubair Ahmed, Anil Jha, Vishesh Ravi, and Jarnail Singh.

Atishi accuses BJP of disrespecting BR Ambedkar

After the suspension, Atishi addressed a press conference where she accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of disrespecting BR Ambedkar. She alleged the BJP had removed Ambedkar's portrait from the chief minister's office. "By removing Babasaheb Ambedkar's portrait, the BJP has revealed its real stance. Do they think PM Modi can take Babasaheb's place?" she said.
