#LeakPeek: Redmi 9 to feature a quad rear camera
As an addition to its portfolio of budget smartphones, Xiaomi is gearing up to launch the Redmi 9 in the coming months. In the latest update, tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore has revealed the key details about the upcoming phone, including a quad-camera module and the presence of a MediaTek Helio G80 processor. Here are more details.
How will it look like?
It is yet to be revealed if the Redmi 9 will retain the waterdrop notched design of its predecessor, the Redmi 8, or get a different setup. However, Sudhanshu has revealed that the phone will house a physical fingerprint sensor and will be offered in Purple and Green color options. For reference, the Redmi 8 sports a 6.22-inch LCD screen with HD+ resolution.
The Redmi 9 will house a quad rear camera
Going by the leak, the Redmi 9 will offer a quad-lens rear camera setup comprising a 13MP primary sensor, coupled with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 5MP macro camera, and another 2MP depth sensor. Up front, the phone would sport an 8MP selfie snapper.
Under the hood
The Redmi 9 is tipped to come with a MediaTek Helio G80 processor, coupled with up to 4GB RAM and up to 64GB storage. The phone is likely to run Android 10-based MIUI 11 and pack a 5,000mAh battery with 10W fast-charging support. The standard connectivity options on the phone would include support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, VoLTE, Type-C port, and headphone jack.
And, how much will it cost?
Going by the reports, Xiaomi will launch the Redmi 9 in the Q3 of 2020. As for the pocket-pinch, the handset is likely to be priced under $150 (approximately Rs. 11,000).
