    Belarus's Ihar Boki wins 11th Paralympic gold

    Belarus's Ihar Boki wins 11th Paralympic gold

    It was gold and another Paralympic record for Belarus's swimmer Ihar Boki as he finished first in men's S13 100m freestyle event. He finished the swim in 50.90 seconds to win fifth gold at the 2016 Paralympic Games. Current world record holder, Ihar broke the Paralympic record during the prelims of the 100m, clocking a time of 51.45 seconds.

    Gordon Reid wins gold in All-British wheelchair tennis final

    Gordon Reid won his first gold medal at the Paralympics defeating his Great Britain team mate Alfie Hewett in wheelchair tennis. Reid won 6-2, 6-1 in just 54-minutes of play. Along with Hewett, Reid had won a silver in the doubles event a day before. Earlier this year, Reid had won the Australian Open and Wimbledon titles and reached finals of the French Open.

    Star Wars hero's son wins gold medal

    Great Britain's Paul Blake, son of Star Wars bounty hunter Greedo won his first gold medal at the 2016 Paralympics. Paul won gold in the T36 400m event, finishing the race in 54.59 seconds. His gold medal was 50th for Britain.

    13th Paralympic gold for Daniel Dias

    Brazilian swimmer Daniel Dias clinched his 13th Paralympic gold, competing in the men's S5 50m backstroke final. The world champion finished the race in 35.40 seconds to win his seventh gold at 2016 Paralympics.

    Ukraine breaks 100 medal wall for the first time

    Ukraine has broken the 100 medal wall for the first time in the Paralympic history. With 38 gold, 33 silver and 35 bronze medals, Ukraine stands third on the medals table. China is on top of the table inching closer to 100 gold medals. China won a total of 217 medals including 94 gold. Britain is on the second spot with 126 medals.
