The opening day of the 2025/26 Vijay Hazare Trophy saw quite a few record-shattering performances. Three of the four fastest centuries across List A cricket were recorded on December 24, 2025. Jake Fraser-McGurk: 29 balls vs Tasmania, 2023
Australia's Jake Fraser-McGurk tops this list with a 29-ball century. The South Australian dasher achieved this against Tasmania during The Marsh Cup in 2023. The opener hammered a blistering 125 off 38 balls, a knock laced with 10 fours and 13 sixes. He took the side past 170 within 12 overs. However, South Australia fell 37 runs short of chasing 436 at Adelaide Oval.

AB de Villiers: 31 balls vs West Indies, 2015
In 2015, former South African batter AB de Villiers smashed records with his 44-ball 149 against West Indies. Coming in at No. 3, the Proteas dasher smashed a 31-ball century, the fastest ever in ODI cricket. This was after Hashim Amla (153*) and Rilee Rossouw (128) added a 247-run opening stand. De Villiers smashed the Windies bowlers for 9 fours and 16 sixes.

Sakibul Gani: 32 balls vs Arunachal Pradesh, 2025
Bihar captain Sakibul Gani is the latest entrant in the top three. He hammered a 32-ball century against Arunachal Pradesh in Bihar's opening VHT match. This is now the fastest List A ton by an Indian. The record-breaking match, played in Ranchi, saw Bihar post a mammoth total of 574/6, the highest List A total. Gani remained unbeaten at 128 off just 40 balls.
