He is also enjoying an incredible economy rate of 4.91, despite bowling in the powerplay and death overs. He is 11th-highest wicket-taker in the history of IPL. He has claimed 127 wickets in 124 matches with an economy of 8.41. His career-best figures of 4/23 came against PBKS this season. Yadav has be particularly exceptional during powerplay overs this season. In three games so far, the pacer grabbed wickets in the first over of every match, inflicting early damage to the opposition sides. As per Cricketpedia, Umesh has claimed five wickets in the PP overs at an economy of 4.87. Notably, out of the 48 balls bowled, 31 have been dot balls.
Umesh owns the record of picking the most wickets against a single team in the IPL. He bagged his 33rd wicket against PBKS on Friday. Umesh and Narine are the only players to have taken more than 30 wickets against PBKS in the IPL.
