All Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises submitted their final list of retained and released players on the November 15 deadline. Chennai Super Kings (CSK), who acquired Sanju Samson in a record trade deal, released the most number of players (11). Here's the final list of players released by each of the 10 IPL sides ahead of the upcoming auction for the 2026 season.

CSK

Chennai Super Kings: Released players 

CSK, who finished last in IPL 2025, traded out Sam Curran and Ravindra Jadeja to acquire Sanju Samson from Rajasthan Royals for ₹18 crore. Released players: Rahul Tripathi, Vansh Bedi, C Andre Siddarth, Rachin Ravindra, Devon Conway, Deepak Hooda, Vijay Shankar, Shaik Rasheed, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, and Matheesha Pathirana. Despite Samson's inclusion, Ruturaj Gaikwad will continue to lead CSK. Purse remaining: ₹43.40 crore.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru: Released players 

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), the defending champions, have released big guns Liam Livingstone and Lungi Ngidi. The Rajat Patidar-led side also parted ways with Mayank Agarwal, who had come in as a replacement for the injured Devdutt Padikkal. Released players: Swastik Chikara, Mayank Agarwal, Tim Seifert, Liam Livingstone, Manoj Bhandage, Lungi Ngidi, Blessing Muzarabani, and Mohit Rathee. Purse remaining: ₹16.40 crore.

KKR

Kolkata Knight Riders: Released players 

In a major development, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will be without Andre Russell in the impending IPL season. Besides Russell, Venkatesh Iyer has also been released by the three-time champions. Released players: Anrich Nortje, Andre Russell, Quinton De Kock, Moeen Ali, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Spencer Johnson, Venkatesh Iyer, Luvnith Sisodia, and Chetan Sakariya. Purse remaining: ₹64.30 crore (biggest).

Sunrisers Hyderabad: Released players

While Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) retained Heinrich Klaasen, the likes of Adam Zampa and Wiaan Mulder were released. The 2016 IPL champions have retained the core group of players led by Pat Cummins. They have a lethal opening pair in Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma. Released players: Adam Zampa, Rahul Chahar, Wiaan Mulder, Abhinav Manohar, Atharva Taide, and Sachin Baby. Purse remaining: ₹25.50 crore.

Like the Orange Army, Gujarat Titans (GT) have retained most of their players. The list of players released includes Karim Janat, Kulwant Khejroliya, Gerald Coetzee, Dasun Shanaka, and Mahipal Lomror. They have ₹12.90 crore remaining.

Mumbai Indians (MI) have released a bunch of overseas players apart from some Indian names. The list includes Bevon Jacobs, Karn Sharma, KL Shrijith, Lizaad Williams, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, PSN Raju, Reece Topley, and Vignesh Puthur. They have only ₹2.75 crore remaining.

Punjab Kings (PBKS) parted ways with Glenn Maxwell, who was re-signed by the franchise for ₹4.2 crore last year. The Kings have also released Josh Inglis, Aaron Hardie, and Kuldeep Sen, freeing up a total of ₹11.50 crore.

Delhi Capitals (DC) have released Faf du Plessis, one of the most experienced players in T20 cricket. The list also includes Mohit Sharma, Sediqullah Atal, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Manvanth Kumar, and Darshan Nalkande. DC will enter the auction with ₹21.80 crore.
