TVS reveals the price of BS6-compliant Apache RTR 180 bike

TVS Motor Company has announced the prices of the BS6-compliant version of the Apache RTR 180. The updated model carries a premium of Rs. 6,700 over its BS4 counterpart and is priced at Rs. 1.01 lakh. Meanwhile, the motorcycle retains the design and features of the outgoing model. Here's our roundup.

A look at the BS6 TVS Apache RTR 180

Much like its BS4 counterpart, the updated Apache RTR 180 sits on a double-cradle frame and features a naked sports design with angular-looking fuel tank extensions, a slightly stepped-up seat, and an attractive paint job as well as graphics work. The motorcycle houses a digital-analog instrument console and is offered in four color options: Pearl White, Matte Blue, Gloss Black and Grey.

    Power and performance

The new TVS Apache RTR 180 is fueled by a BS6-compliant 177.4cc air-cooled engine mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. However, the company is yet to reveal the power figures of the updated motor. In the BS4 state of tune, this unit puts out 16.6PS of power at 8,500rpm and a 15.5Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm.

TVS Apache RTR 180: On the road

On the safety front, the new TVS Apache RTR 180 comes equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear ends, along with single-channel ABS to avoid skidding while braking. To handle the suspension duties, the sports tourer houses telescopic forks on the front and a dual-shock unit on the rear.

    Finally, what is the pricing?

As far as its pricing is concerned, the BS6-compliant TVS Apache RTR 180 is Rs. 6,700 costlier than its BS4 sibling. It is priced at Rs. 1.01 lakh and takes on the likes of Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 and Suzuki Gixxer (155cc).
