TVS launches BS6-compliant Scooty Pep Plus at Rs. 51,500

TVS Motor Company has launched the BS6-compliant version of the Scooty Pep Plus in India. The updated model comes at a starting price of Rs. 51,574, carrying a premium of up to Rs. 6,700 over its BS4 counterpart. Apart from the engine upgrade, it retains the design and underpinnings of the outgoing version. Here's our roundup.

Design
TVS Scooty Pep Plus: At a glance

The BS6 Scooty Pep Plus sports a compact yet appealing design featuring an angular-looking front apron, blacked-out grab rail, a USB charging socket, and LED DRLs. The scooter runs on blacked-out alloy wheels and features an attractive paint job as well as graphics work. Moreover, it has a fuel tank capacity of 4.9 liters and a wheelbase of 1,230mm.

Information
Power and performance

The new TVS Scooty Pep Plus is powered by the same 87.8cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, albeit with fuel-injection technology and BS6 compliance. This motor is capable of producing 5PS of maximum power at 6,500rpm and 5.8Nm of peak torque at 4,000rpm.

Safety
What about safety and suspension setup?

In the safety department, the TVS Scooty Pep Plus comes equipped with 110mm drum brakes on both the front and rear ends, along with a side-stand alarm as standard. The suspension duties on the scooter are taken care of by telescopic forks on the front and a mono-shock unit on the rear.

Information
And, here's a look at the pricing

The BS6 TVS Scooty Pep Plus comes at a starting price of Rs. 51,574 for the standard Series model. Apart from that, the Babelicious Series and Matte Edition Series variants are priced at Rs. 52,954 (all prices, ex-showroom).
