BSA Thunderbolt arrives as the brand's first adventure bike
What's the story
British motorcycle manufacturer BSA has revealed its first-ever adventure bike, the Thunderbolt. The model was unveiled at EICMA 2025 and combines BSA's design heritage with modern technology. The new addition marks the fourth launch by the brand since its revival under Classic Legends. The Thunderbolt nameplate was last seen in 1972, making this a significant comeback for the storied moniker.
Design elements
The bike packs a 334cc Euro 5+ compliant engine
The new Thunderbolt is designed for touring and off-road riding. It packs a 334cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC single-cylinder Euro 5+ compliant engine, mated to a six-speed gearbox. The bike also has a big 15.5-liter fuel tank for long-distance rides. The Thunderbolt comes with three ABS modes (Rain, Road, Off-Road), traction control, USD front forks, and preload-adjustable mono-shock rear suspension for enhanced performance on different terrains.
Protection and comfort
It offers turn-by-turn navigation and Bluetooth connectivity
The Thunderbolt is built for off-road riding with high ground clearance, a reinforced bash plate, and an integrated exoskeleton frame. It also has a low seat height, adjustable windscreen, turn-by-turn navigation system, Bluetooth connectivity, and USB charging ports for added convenience. Anupam Thareja, Co-founder of Classic Legends, called it "the best 350 ADV in the world" and encouraged potential riders to test ride it themselves.
Global platform
The motorcycle will be available globally in mid-2026
The Thunderbolt also debuts BSA's global ADV platform, which will be shared with Jawa and Yezdi brands while keeping their unique identities intact. Classic Legends Co-founder Boman Irani said the new motorcycle is "adventure-ready and engineered to go the distance." He added it inspires confidence with its dynamic on- and off-road capabilities, unmatched performance, as well as effortless usability. The Thunderbolt will hit global markets in mid-2026.
