Hero MotoCorp has launched a new XTEC variant of its Destini 125 scooter. It is priced at Rs. 79,990. The new model gets some design changes which give it a premium look along with some new connectivity features. As for the highlights, the two-wheeler gets a trendy design, a new LED headlight, Bluetooth connectivity, and runs on a 124.6cc engine.

Context
Why does this story matter?
  • After the Glamour 125 and Pleasure+ 110, Hero has added Destini 125 to the list of two-wheelers to get an XTEC edition. As has always been the case, the 'XTEC' badging has made the Destini 125 more tech-friendly.
  • In a scooter segment that is gradually moving away from ICE-powered offerings, the new Destini 125 XTEC is expected to bring a much-need freshness.
Design
The scooter features an LED headlight and Bluetooth connectivity

The Hero Destini 125 XTEC sits on an underbone frame and sports an indicator-mounted front apron, an LED headlight, a dual-tone seat, a pillion grab rail, chrome-plated mirrors, and an "XTEC" badging. It packs a semi-digital instrument cluster with Hero Connect and Bluetooth connectivity features. The scooter is offered in seven shades, including Nexus Blue, Matte Black, and Pearl Silver White.

Information
It is powered by a 9hp, 124.6cc engine

The Hero Destini 125 XTEC is fueled by a 124.6cc, air-cooled engine that churns out 9hp of power at 7,000rpm and 10.4Nm of torque at 5,500rpm. The mill is linked to an automatic gearbox.

Safety
The two-wheeler gets drum brakes on both wheels

To ensure the safety of the rider, the Hero Destini 125 XTEC is equipped with drum brakes on both front and rear wheels, along with an integrated braking system for improved handling on the roads. Suspension duties on the scooter are handled by telescopic forks on the front side and a unit swing with a spring-loaded hydraulic damper on the rear end.

Information
Hero Destini 125 XTEC: Pricing

The Hero Destini 125 XTEC is priced at Rs. 79,990. On the other hand, the STD variant carries a price-tag of Rs. 69,990, while the LX model costs Rs. 74,300 (all prices, ex-showroom).
