Honda India's 2026 launch lineup: Elevate (facelift), Prelude and more
What's the story
Honda is gearing up to introduce a slew of new models in India by 2026. The company has already announced plans to import some of its premium vehicles as brand builders. These include the ZR-V SUV and the Prelude two-seater sports coupe. Existing models such as the Elevate mid-size SUV and City sedan are also due for facelifts in 2026.
Model details
Prelude: A glimpse into Honda's future
The Honda Prelude is set to be imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) and is expected to launch in H1 2026. It will be powered by a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder Atkinson cycle direct-injection petrol engine that powers two electric motors for a combined output of 200hp and 315Nm torque.
Model update
Elevate (facelift): A mid-cycle refresh
The Honda Elevate will get a mild mid-cycle refresh to stay competitive in the midsize SUV segment. The updates are expected to be minor and include changes to the front and rear styling, an updated interior, and possibly some new features. The 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine will continue under the hood of this refreshed model.
Model evolution
City (facelift): A subtle transformation
The fifth-generation Honda City is all set to get its second facelift as a stopgap before an all-new generation arrives in 2028. The updates are expected to be limited to soft parts, bringing it in line with global models like the Civic. The cabin could see a subtle refresh with new trim and upholstery while retaining its layout and features.
