Honda recalls over 259,000 vehicles in the US

Honda is recalling about 259,000 cars and SUVs in the US because a brake pedal problem could make stopping harder or even cause the brakes to act up on their own.
The recall covers recent Honda Pilots (2023-2025), Acura MDX SUVs (2023-2025), and Acura TLX sedans (2021-2025).
The issue comes from a small part in the brake pedal that wasn't installed right, which can mess with how the brakes work.

TL;DR

Warning lights may show in affected vehicles

If you drive one of these models, you might notice weird brake warning lights or your brake lights turning on without touching the pedal.
Honda says only about 1% of these cars actually have the defect, but it does raise crash risks.

Dealers were notified on June 13

Dealers started getting notified on June 13, and owners will get letters by July 28.
If your car is affected, Honda will check and fix it for free.
So far there are no reports of injuries—just three warranty claims—and Honda has already changed how they build these parts to prevent future issues.
