Cayenne Electric debuts as Porsche's most powerful production car ever

Porsche has unveiled the Cayenne Electric, a new all-electric SUV and the most powerful production vehicle in its history. The zero-emission Cayenne joins existing gasoline and hybrid models as part of what Porsche calls "a new era." The decision to introduce this electric beast comes amid a crisis at Porsche due to US tariffs and fierce competition in China, which have led a $1.1 billion operating loss in the third quarter alone.

Cayenne Electric's impressive specifications and features
The Cayenne Electric packs a jaw-dropping 1,139hp of power and can go from 0-100km/h in just 2.4 seconds. It has a top speed of approximately 260km/h and can charge from 10-80% in just 18 minutes under ideal conditions. The SUV also supports inductive charging, allowing it to charge at speeds of up to 11kW when parked above a floor plate.

Cayenne Electric's range and towing capacity
The base version of the Cayenne Electric offers a WLTP range of 642km while the Turbo variant offers a range of 623km. The SUV can also tow up to 3.5 tons or 3500kg when properly equipped. It comes with an adaptive air suspension fitted as standard on both models and features Porsche's torque vectoring limited-slip rear differential on the Turbo trim.

Cayenne Electric's charging capabilities and interior design
The Cayenne Electric features a Tesla Supercharger/NACS fast-charging port on the driver-side rear fender and a CCS/AC-only charging port on the passenger-side rear fender. The SUV boasts of a unique interior design with Porsche's Flow Display, a vertically installed screen that curves toward the bottom, flanked by 14.25-inch OLED instrument cluster and optional 14.9-inch passenger display.

Cayenne Electric's advanced technology and voice assistant
The new Cayenne comes with an AI-powered voice assistant that can "reliably" understand complex instructions and spontaneous follow-up questions without repeating the activation word. This tech controls climate, seat heating, ambient lighting while recognizing addresses, points of interest traffic info. The car also features a heads-up display simulating an "87-inch display area 10 meters in front of the vehicle."
