Tata Motors to launch Safari EV with August production start
Tata Motors is bringing out the Safari EV, its new flagship electric SUV, just in time for the festive season of 2026.
Built on the same acti.ev+ platform as the Harrier EV, production kicks off in August.
With this launch, Tata's looking to round out its electric SUV lineup and go head-to-head with rivals like Mahindra XEV 9S.
Safari EV priced 22.5L to 30L
The Safari EV is expected to come with two battery options (65 kWh and 75 kWh), possible dual-motor all-wheel drive, multiple terrain modes, and fast charging up to 100 kW.
The design will stay close to the current Safari but pack in upgraded digital features thanks to Tata's TiDAL architecture.
Price-wise, it should land between ₹22.5 lakh and ₹30 lakh, making it a strong contender in India's growing electric car scene.
