Toyota has issued nine US recalls so far in 2026 affecting 1,024,794 vehicles and parts.
The biggest chunk is 550,007 Highlander SUVs (2021-2024) because their seatbacks might not lock properly.
Other models on the list include Lexus TX and RX (with rearview camera problems) and nearly 150,000 Prius cars that could have rear doors open unexpectedly.
Toyota ranks 3rd in US recalls
The recall also covers some headlights not meant for US bZ4X EVs, about 4,400 new Lexus LXs with possible transmission issues, plus a few models like the GX550 and RAV4 with wrong load capacity labels.
With this move, Toyota now ranks third in US auto recalls this year—behind GM and Ford, which have recalled even more vehicles so far.
