A video showing Bengaluru SP (Rural) Bheemashankar S Guled kissing a married woman has brought much shame to the state government and police force.
Taking action, Guled has been shunted out and replaced by TP Shivakumar, DCP (Traffic, West).
However, Guled hasn't been posted anywhere, meaning he's unemployed till further instructions.
The senior IPS officer, meanwhile, has claimed innocence.
Guled and the woman had met in her photo studio for the first time, when he was posted in Davanagare as SP in 2016.
The studio was launched by her husband Suresh, a 40-year-old techie working in Bengaluru. Guled was the first customer, who wanted a photo of his twin daughters clicked.
Later, Guled started asking for sexual favors from her, Suresh alleged.
On July 5, Suresh approached Koramangala Police station to lodge a complaint against Guled and submitted the video as proof.
It spiraled into a controversy when TV channels started airing it. Eventually, the footage went viral.
Consequently, Deputy CM and Home Minister G Parameshwara met the DIG and other senior officials and decided to replace Guled. He also sought a report on the case.
For now, a non-cognizable offence under IPC Section 497 (adultery) has been registered but cops are mulling legal options too.
They've approached the First Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court.
However, Suresh alleged the cops are siding with their colleague and didn't file the complaint as the way he had presented.
DG-IGP Neelamani Raju also didn't entertain his pleas, he added.
While Suresh is claiming his wife Roopa has gone missing, she's telling media about their failed marriage. She says they are estranged and don't live together. She added he's abusive and has morphed the video to bring a bad name to her and Guled.
