KSRTC's biodiesel tenders find no takers!
Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), India's first state-run corporation to operate AC buses running entirely on biodiesel, is struggling to procure biodiesel. After the previous contractor, Hyderabad's Advait Bio Fuel, stopped supply from Dec'16, KSRTC floated two tenders, which received no response. The recently-floated third tender, inviting fuel suppliers to provide the alternative fuel has also found no takers as of now.
"We want to increase the number of biodiesel buses but there was no response from the providers. So we have floated a new tender inviting firms to supply this fuel," KSRTC managing director said.
