Karnataka: Three ministers inducted to cabinet; final reshuffle before polls
Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah inducted three ministers into the Cabinet, including Dalit MLC RB Thimmapur, ahead of 2018 polls. By inducting Thimmapur, Siddaramiah attempts to please Left Dalits or Madigas, a section of backward Dalits, who feel oppressed by Right Dalits. The other two inducted ministers were Siddaramiah's close aide HM Revanna of Kuruba community, and Geetha Mahadeva Prasad, former minister HS Mahadeva Prasad's widow.
