Air India adds flights, caps fares after IndiGo chaos

With IndiGo flights getting disrupted, Air India Group is pitching in by adding extra flights and putting limits on economy fares to help stranded travelers.
Since December 4, 2025, both Air India and Air India Express have been working to make sure passengers can still get where they need to go without breaking the bank.

Government steps in to keep fares fair

To stop prices from spiking due to high demand, the government has set airfare caps—and Air India is matching those limits on non-stop domestic routes.
They admit it's tricky to cap every single fare option because of technical hurdles, but these efforts are all about making travel less stressful and more affordable right now.
