First launched in Bengaluru last December, Amazon Now promises delivery of daily essentials within 10 minutes through a network of micro-fulfillment centers near customer neighborhoods.

Amazon is now opening two micro-fulfillment centers every day to expand the service's reach in more neighborhoods within these cities.

The aggressive expansion strategy is expected to increase Amazon Now's footprint to over 300 centers by year-end, from about 100 during the festive season. The move comes as the quick commerce space heats up with players like Zepto, Blinkit, and Instamart ramping up their expansion plans. Flipkart also entered this segment last year with its own quick delivery service called Minutes in Gurugram and other parts of NCR region.
