Bahrain, India to soon allow instant cross-border money transfers
Business
India and Bahrain are set to make sending money between the two countries a whole lot easier.
Thanks to a new deal between Bahrain's BENEFIT Company and India's NIPL, people can soon transfer money instantly and securely using Bahrain's Fawri+ and India's UPI systems.
The move is backed by both countries' central banks and was recently announced.
Faster, cheaper, and more transparent transfers
This upgrade connects Bahrain's EFTS with India's UPI, letting users send or receive cash in seconds.
It means faster, cheaper, and more transparent transfers—especially great news for the huge Indian community in Bahrain (almost 30% of the population).
Plus, it strengthens digital finance ties between the two nations, making cross-border payments smoother for everyone.
