Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL) just earned the prestigious Navratna status, joining an exclusive group of top-performing government companies.
Announced by the Finance Ministry, this upgrade comes after CPCL's profits jumped more than 17 times in the fiscal year 2025-26 (April 2025-March 2026), from ₹174 crore to an impressive ₹3,062 crore.
Navratna grants CPCL ₹1,000cr investment autonomy
With Navratna status, CPCL now has way more freedom to make big moves, like investing up to ₹1,000 crore in projects without waiting for government approval.
The company's revenue also grew 9% in the fiscal year 2025-26, reaching ₹78,611 crore.
This recognition highlights CPCL's steady growth and opens doors for new partnerships and tech upgrades down the line.
