CPP Investments to take 8.2% stake in CtrlS, launch JV
Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments), one of the world's largest pension investors, and CtrlS Datacenters are joining hands to invest nearly ₹7,000 crore in India's digital infrastructure.
The deal includes CPP picking up an 8.2% stake in CtrlS and launching a joint venture to build large-scale data center campuses: basically, the backbone for everything from cloud storage to AI.
Data centers planned in 5 cities
The new data centers will pop up in Mumbai, Chennai, and Hyderabad, with Bengaluru and Pune.
CPP is putting in about ₹4,000 crore for its stake in CtrlS and another ₹3,000 crore into the joint venture.
With more demand for cloud services and AI tools across India, this partnership is all about keeping up with the country's fast-growing digital needs.
