Cred's new biometric UPI authentication, where you use your fingerprint or face instead of a PIN, has almost hit 10 million users since launching in March.
The move has caught the eye of rivals too, with PhonePe and Amazon Pay rolling out similar features.
It's a sign that biometrics are quickly becoming the norm for safer, faster payments.
Meta eyes $4B cred investment
Cred's payment ecosystem is growing, with total payment value touching ₹8.5 trillion in fiscal 2025 and monthly user transactions up by 34%.
Still, its UPI market share sits at just 0.68%, far behind PhonePe and Google Pay.
Interestingly, Meta reportedly considers investing in Cred at a $4 billion valuation, a big hint at how much buzz there is around the brand right now.
