Dave Wehner, former Meta CFO, joins Fireworks as CFO
Dave Wehner, who was Meta's chief strategy officer (and before that, its longtime chief financial officer), will join Fireworks, a fast-growing AI infrastructure startup, as its new chief financial officer.
The move highlights how big names in tech are betting on the next wave of AI innovation.
Fireworks seeks $30B to $40B valuation
Fireworks, started by former Meta and Google employees in 2022, helps businesses customize open models and already counts NVIDIA as a backer.
The company was valued at $17.5 billion in July and is now aiming for a $30 billion to $40 billion valuation.
The company recently had a security incident but assured everyone that no customer data or models were affected.
With Wehner set to join Fireworks as CFO, Fireworks is looking to scale up and compete with giants like OpenAI.
