Dhanteras 2026 jewelry gold sales up 15-20% to ₹60,000cr
Business
Dhanteras 2026 was big for jewelry shopping; gold sales jumped 15-20% from last year, hitting about ₹60,000 crore, even though gold prices were sky-high.
Showrooms saw more visitors and lots of advance bookings as the recent correction in precious metal prices encouraged consumers to make festive purchases.
Silver sales expected up 30%
With gold at ₹1.46 lakh per 10gm in Delhi, many buyers chose lighter or lower-carat pieces, smaller coins, and silver artifacts instead of splurging on heavy jewelry.
Silver sales were also expected to soar, up 30% in value, while some shoppers branched out into diamond jewelry too.
All in all, this Dhanteras showed how buyers are getting creative with their festive bling.
