Flipkart warehouse workers in Haryana walk off over wage cuts
Business
On Sunday, hundreds of Flipkart warehouse workers in Haryana walked off the job, protesting sudden wage cuts, alleged violations of minimum wage laws, and tough working conditions, especially in the summer heat.
They're asking for their restoration of wages and basics like drinking water, cooling fans, and proper rest areas.
Union says pay fell to ₹12,000-₹14,000
Union reps say some workers saw their monthly pay drop from ₹18,000 to as low as ₹12,000-₹14,000, and a few got just ₹50 for a whole night shift.
Labor leaders called this a serious rights issue and warned of bigger protests if things don't change soon.
Police arrived following the protests, and the employees agreed to negotiate with the employers, but Flipkart hasn't commented yet.
