HDFC Bank to meet June 18 over Atanu Chakraborty probe
Business
HDFC Bank's board is meeting on June 18 to go over the results of an investigation into why former chairman Atanu Chakraborty stepped down, saying he faced ethical conflicts.
Early reports from three law firms found no real evidence of governance or ethics issues tied to his claims.
Board to decide Keki Mistry extension
The board will also decide if interim part-time chairman Keki Mistry should stay for another three months (he is unlikely to continue beyond the transitional period, but it needs Reserve Bank of India approval).
Mistry's current term ends June 18, and a permanent chair will be chosen only after this review wraps up.
The review was carried out by the law firms HDFC Bank appointed, and the audit committee met to deliberate on the findings.
