Indian exporters increasingly utilize Free Trade Agreements

Indian exporters are seeing real gains from free trade agreements (FTAs) with Australia and the UAE this year.
Thanks to these deals—launched in 2022—more businesses can claim tariff perks, making it easier and cheaper to sell Indian goods abroad.

In 2024-25, India handed out 77,234 certificates for exports to Australia (up 19% from last year) and 122,036 for the UAE (up nearly 25%).
Across all FTAs, over 7.2 lakh certificates were issued—meaning more Indian products are getting a boost overseas.
