Indian rupee opens at 94.34 per US$, Finrex expects 94.00-94.70
Business
The rupee kicked off Friday almost unchanged at 94.34 against the US dollar, holding steady despite a stronger dollar globally.
Finrex say ongoing foreign investment is helping keep things balanced, and expect the rupee to move between 94.00 and 94.70 for now.
Exporters advised to lock profits
Exporters are being told to lock in profits if the rupee nears 94.70, while importers might want to take advantage of any dips.
Across Asia, currencies had a mixed day: Japan's yen and South Korea's won edged up a bit, but others like the Philippine peso slipped.
Oil prices have also settled around $80 per barrel after some recent bumps, and Thailand's baht and Malaysia's ringgit were pretty stable too.
