India's first bullet train, the B28, is on track to roll out its prototype by early 2027.
Built at BEML's Aditya plant in Bengaluru, the train will go through a round of testing there before heading to Surat for more trials.
This marks a big step toward faster and more modern travel in India.
B28 set for Surat-Vapi August 2027
If all goes well in testing, the B28 is set to launch on the Surat-Vapi route by August 2027 as part of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail project.
The train can hit speeds up to 280km/h.
BEML landing this contract back in October 2024 was a major milestone for Indian-made high-speed trains, showing just how far local tech and manufacturing have come.
