India's coffee exports are brewing up a $2 billion milestone
Business
India's coffee exports are on track to cross $2 billion in 2025, fueled by higher global prices after supply hiccups in Brazil and Vietnam.
By mid-December, export earnings had already reached $1.97 billion—up 21% from last year.
That's ₹17,106 crore in rupee terms, marking a solid 26% jump.
Fewer beans shipped, but India holds its ground globally
Even though the value soared, export volumes actually dipped 6% as some European buyers switched to cheaper options.
Still, Indian robusta and arabica coffees fetch premium prices worldwide—Robusta parchment is selling for $1,000-1,100 more per ton than London rates.
Most of India's beans head to Italy, Germany, Belgium, Russia, and the UAE; with a 5% slice of the global market, India ranks seventh in production and fifth in exports.
