India's Ministry of Defense receives bids for 87 indigenous drones
Business
India's Ministry of Defense just wrapped up bids from 10 homegrown companies, including big names like HAL, Tata Advanced Systems, and L&T, for a huge project to build 87 advanced military drones.
This over ₹30,000 crore initiative is all about boosting Indian-made tech and was greenlit last year.
Project advances after 2 deadline extensions
After two deadline extensions that gave companies more time to polish their proposals, the project is moving ahead.
These new drones will handle real-time surveillance and can even launch missiles, helping India keep a closer watch on its borders with Pakistan and China while cutting down reliance on US and Israeli imports.
