Jio Platforms to export 5G stack to $70 billion market
Business
Jio Platforms is gearing up to export its own 5G technology to international markets, spotting a massive $70 billion opportunity as many countries are still rolling out 5G.
Their all-in-one stack, covering network design, software, and operating systems, aims to help telecom operators worldwide get up to speed with next-generation connectivity.
Jio built 1 million+ cells, 268.5 million subscribers
After building over a million 5G cells across India in under a year (making it the world's largest standalone 5G network outside China), Jio had 268.5 million standalone 5G subscribers as of March 2026.
The company wants to use this experience to compete with big names like Nokia, Ericsson, and Huawei globally, hoping their local know-how can open new doors beyond India.
