Kerala launches brand Keralam, announced by Chief Minister VD Satheesan
Kerala is set to launch Brand Keralam, a new push to get its homegrown favorites (think spices, seafood, handloom, Ayurvedic goodies, cashews, and coir) noticed around the world.
Announced by Chief Minister VD Satheesan during the budget, the goal is to help local producers earn more by cutting out middlemen and giving their products a bigger stage.
Kerala Mark aims to certify origin
A big part of this move is the new Kerala Mark certification, basically a stamp that says these products are genuinely from Kerala and up to standard.
The hope is that this will boost buyer confidence and make Kerala's goods stand out in crowded markets.
Experts say it could open doors for small businesses and artisans too, helping them reach premium buyers and earn more while supporting jobs back home.
