KPMG admits leaking Optus data to staff on Telstra pitch

KPMG just admitted to leaking confidential Optus data to staff working on a Telstra audit pitch.
The leak came out during a parliamentary inquiry this week, after a whistleblower's testimony earlier in the year.
The scandal led to former CEO Andrew Yates stepping down in May, as reported by The Guardian.
Whistleblower says KPMG prioritized landing clients
The whistleblower said KPMG cared more about landing big clients than doing the right thing, and even faced pushback for speaking up.
KPMG chair Martin Sheppard acknowledged, "Information moving through an ethical divider ... shouldn't have moved through that divider."
Now, Yates and 11 others are under investigation, and it turns out Yates walked away with about $4.1 million despite resigning over the mess.
