Michael Truell just joined the billionaire club at 25 after SpaceX agreed to acquire his AI startup, Cursor, for $60 billion in stock.
Announced on June 16, the deal means Cursor's parent company, Anysphere, will now be part of SpaceX, a move that deepens their partnership and gives SpaceX a big boost in AI.
Cursor neared $3B ARR by mid-2026
Truell left MIT in 2022 and co-founded Anysphere in 2022, which later created Cursor.
Their AI coding assistant quickly took off, reaching $100 million in revenue in its first year and reports suggest annual recurring revenue approached $3 billion by mid-2026, reportedly thanks to clients like NVIDIA and Adobe.
Even with a small team, Cursor became one of Silicon Valley's hottest startups before this landmark acquisition.
