The stock market had a festive boost during Diwali's Muhurat Trading session, with Sensex climbing 350 points past 81,380 and Nifty gaining over 80 points to cross 23,100.

Muhurat trading began in 1957
Muhurat Trading is a Diwali tradition that started back in 1957 on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
It's seen as an auspicious way to start the financial year: this year's session ran from 2:20pm to 3:30pm and marked Samvat 2083.
The mood was upbeat across sectors, and even smaller stocks did well, thanks to strong earnings reports and solid October sales numbers.
