New Relic CEO Ashan Willy says India leads AI strategy
New Relic, a big name in observability tech, is betting big on India as more local companies jump on AI.
CEO Ashan Willy shared that 72% of Indian firms using New Relic are also into AI, way ahead of the global median of around 40%.
He put it simply: "India leads our AI strategy, which is broad. The software of the world is written here, which will continue."
India headcount tops 800 employees
To keep up, New Relic's India headcount has crossed 800 employees, up 17.3% from 688 in 2025 and nearly four times higher than 217 in 2024.
This isn't just about hiring: it's about making India a core hub for their engineering and AI work, with new offices opening in Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
With observability set to become a $38 billion market by 2030, India's role as a decision-making center for global tech just keeps getting bigger.
