Pro-Israel hackers burn $90 million from Iranian crypto exchange
A pro-Israel hacker group called Predatory Sparrow took $90 million from Nobitex, Iran's largest crypto exchange.
Instead of cashing out, they destroyed the funds as a statement against Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), highlighting the ongoing tensions between Iran and Israel.
TL;DR
Hackers' message to Nobitex
The group posted online saying Nobitex is used by the regime to fund terrorism and dodge sanctions.
They even sent the stolen crypto to blockchain addresses with anti-IRGC messages—Elliptic, a crypto analytics firm, confirmed this.
Afterward, Nobitex reassured users that most assets were safe in untouched cold wallets.
