Reliance Industries announces Jio Platforms IPO could be India's biggest
Reliance Industries just announced that Jio Platforms is gearing up for its IPO, which could be the biggest in India's history.
The Ambani siblings, Akash, Isha, and Anant, are leading the charge, and the company will soon file official paperwork with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
Ambanis tout Jio scale and satellites
At Reliance's annual meeting, Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani called this IPO a huge step for India's tech scene, saying it proves the country can build global tech giants.
Reliance Jio Infocomm Chairman Akash Ambani highlighted that Jio now has more than 524 million subscribers and 268 million 5G users, making it the largest single-country 5G network outside China.
Plus, Jio is working on its own satellite system and ground stations to boost India's tech independence even further.
