Samsung Electronics hits 200 trillion won cash reserves semiconductor-driven
Business
Samsung Electronics just hit a huge financial milestone, becoming the first South Korean company to cross 200 trillion won (about $146.6 billion) in cash reserves.
This boost comes mostly from the booming semiconductor business, thanks to all the buzz around AI tech lately.
Just in the past year, Samsung nearly doubled its reserves (added a whopping 24.8 trillion won in the last quarter alone).
Samsung plans 90-110 trillion won payouts
With this massive cash pile, Samsung plans to reward shareholders big time, aiming for payouts between 90 and 110 trillion won in 2026.
They're also investing over 100 trillion won this year into their semiconductor division, especially ramping up memory chip production.
