SEBI pushes to make long-term derivative contracts available in India
SEBI is looking to make long-term derivative contracts available in India, aiming to give investors more options beyond the usual short-term trades.
Chairman Tuhin Kanta Pandey said after a board meeting, "All products, longer and shorter-term derivatives, should be available in markets," signaling a push for more flexibility.
SEBI to publish derivatives findings July
SEBI plans to talk with market participants and sort out any concerns while seeing how it can remove barriers around longer-term derivative contracts.
They're also reviewing how derivatives are currently traded and the risks involved.
Pandey confirmed the regulator would release findings from that study, covering trading patterns and risk outcomes in derivatives, in July, and SEBI is working on better tools for catching market misconduct faster.
