Tata Trusts gives undisclosed grant for IIM Bangalore undergraduate campus
Tata Trusts is backing IIM Bangalore's brand-new School of Undergraduate Studies with a major (but undisclosed) grant.
The funds will go toward building classrooms, hostels, and research hubs focused on hot topics like AI, data science, and Indian Knowledge Systems at the new campus, about 27km from the main IIMB site.
IIM Bangalore welcomes 1st 80 students
Starting August 2026, the school will welcome its first batch, 80 students split between two four-year residential programs: B.Sc. (Honors) in economics with a data science minor, and B.Sc. (Honors) in data science with an economics minor.
Noel Tata, Chairman of Tata Trusts, says Tata Trusts wants to create lasting institutions, while Dr. Devi Shetty, Chairperson of the Board of Governors at IIM Bangalore, highlights how this support will help shape future leaders ready for a data-driven world.
