What's the story

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a leading IT giant, is all set to start operations at its Delivery Center in Visakhapatnam from January 2026. The company will initially employ around 2,000 staff members and invest ₹80 crore into the project. The new center will be located at a leased facility on Rushikonda Hill No. 3 and has already put up its signboard on the Millennium Towers building.

Campus construction

Permanent campus to be established in Visakhapatnam

Along with starting operations at the Delivery Center, TCS will also start work on its permanent campus for its business unit in Visakhapatnam. The Andhra Pradesh government has given TCS 2,08,280 square feet of office space in Millennium Towers A and B at Rushikonda Hill No. 3. The lease rate is ₹29 per square foot per month, totaling around ₹60.4 lakh monthly.

Project delay

Project delayed due to land denotification

A senior government official revealed that the TCS project was delayed due to the denotification of the allotted land from the Visakhapatnam Special Economic Zone (VSEZ). However, now that it has been denotified, there are no more hurdles for TCS to start work on its permanent campus. The VSEZ can denotify land as non-SEZ with prior approval from the Center.

Expansion strategy

TCS's future plans for Visakhapatnam

On January 3, 2025, the Industries and Commerce Department proposed to set up the TCS Delivery Center in Visakhapatnam. The Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation was directed to allot office space at a concessional rent under the customized incentive provisions of the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Development Policy 2024-29. Later, on April 21, 2025, government allotted 21.16 acres at IT Hill No.3 to TCS for its permanent campus at a nominal cost of ₹0.99 per acre.
