IIM Nagpur, ONGC Green join forces for renewable energy research

The Indian Institute of Management Nagpur (IIM-N) and ONGC Green Limited have entered into a strategic partnership to conduct research in the field of green and future energy. The collaboration was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by IIM-N Director Bhimaraya Metri and ONGC Green COO Harsh Nupur Joshi today.
Research focus
MoU to focus on key areas of renewable energy
The MoU will see both institutions work together in areas like environmental sustainability, ESG frameworks, and renewable energy integration into power systems. Other areas of focus include carbon and green credit markets, energy storage, e-mobility policies, and leadership development. The partnership is expected to leverage IIM-N's academic and policy expertise with ONGC Green's operational experience in the renewable energy sector.
Future plans
ONGC Green's ambitious green energy target
ONGC Green, the renewable energy division of Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), is targeting 10GW of green energy capacity by 2030. The company plans to achieve this via solar, wind, energy storage, biofuels, and green hydrogen projects. Joshi said the energy sector is changing rapidly and their aim with this partnership is to support India's net-zero target by 2070.
