Will ensure ration for everybody: Delhi HC
While hearing a petition by an NGO Delhi Rozi Roti Adhikar Abhiyan, Delhi HC stated it would ensure no one in Delhi sleeps hungry, and everyone gets a ration. The petitioner and concerned authorities were asked by the court to suggest a mechanism for the same. The NGO said some slum dwellers are unable to get subsidized foodgrains as they have no Aadhaar cards.
"You tell us how to regulate functioning of fair price shops. We will ensure and facilitate ration to everybody in Delhi. We will ensure Aadhaar to everyone. You tell us what problem they are facing. We will ensure that nobody sleeps hungry in Delhi," the bench said.
